On completion of his first degree Moray accepted a Senior Mechanical Engineering Design role with GEC Alsthom. In 1998 he joined BAE Systems Regional Aircraft Division as a Senior Systems Engineer. During his period with BAE he was posted, on secondment, to the aircraft production facility where he supported a team accountable for the structural design integrity of aircraft during the final assembly phase.
In 2001 Moray started his Engineering Doctorate (EngD) at The University of Manchester sponsored by Teradyne Diagnostic Solutions. His research focused on Automotive Condition Monitoring. On completing his doctorate programme Moray accepted the post of Product Manager at Teradyne DS in 2005. His main responsibility was to support Business Development with assignments across Europe, North America and South East Asia.In a Research Management capacity he helped develop a strategy for accelerated innovation with the aim of improving the development process for next generation automotive test products and services.
In 2007 Moray accepted a senior teaching and management role with the University of Manchester. As a Deputy Director, his primary management responsibility is the delivery of the BP Engineering Management executive education programme. In his research support role, Moray has supervised over forty MSc Dissertations and is currently managing seven PhD / EngD projects. His main research interests include Maintenance Engineering and Project Management. Moray is a Subject Matter Expert for Condition Based Maintenance and he currently teaches on the Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management MSc.
