Non-Parametric Binomial Reliability Demonstration Test

This example validates the results for a non-parametric binomial test design in Weibull++.


Reference Case

The data is from Example 1-7 on page 46 in the book Reliability & Life Testing Handbook Vol 2 by Dr. Kececioglu, Prentice-Hall, 1994.


Data

One hundred units are reliability tested. Ten units fail. Find the one-sided confidence limits on the reliability at the 95% confidence level.


Result

The one-sided 95% lower confidence limit is the same as the two-sided 90% lower confidence limit. The result in the book is 0.836.


Results in Weibull++

Weibull++ calculates the one-sided lower confidence limit. The result is shown next:
