Structural Hierarchy and SSI Selection
For MSG-3 structural analysis, you will use the structural hierarchy tree to define the structures, substructures, subsubstructures and structural items that will be considered. The structures and substructures are added from a predefined list that is the same for all analyses in the same repository (this can be maintained by an authorized user if you choose Home > Manage ATA Chapters). When you select a structural item (lowest level in the Structural Hierarchy), a panel at the bottom of the Properties tab displays a set of questions that can be used to determine if the item is a structurally significant item (SSI). A "Yes" answer to any of these questions will enable the commands to create the appropriate Accidental Damage (AD) and/or Environmental Damage (ED) analyses for the item. |
