Accidental Damage Analysis

For both metallic and non-metallic materials, the Accidental Damage (AD) rating system will consider the possibility of accidental damage to the structural item from any of the following sources:

  • Ground or cargo handling equipment
  • Maintenance or operator procedures
  • Weather effects (such as rain, hail, etc.)
  • Runway debris
  • Bird strike
  • Lightning strike
  • Spillage (water entrapment)
