Enhanced Zonal Analysis

The Zonal (Enhanced) rating system considers:

  • The size of the zone and the density of the equipment in the zone.
  • The potential effects of fire caused by a wiring/EWIS failure on adjacent wiring and systems.

It then prompts the analyst to consider whether a zonal GVI (general visual inspection) alone will be effective for the entire zone, or if it should be augmented with a standalone GVIs and/or detailed inspections (DETs).

Finally, ratings for the likelihood of accidental damage and environmental deterioration can be used to determine the appropriate inspection interval.
