Functional Failure Analysis |
In RCM++, you can use the FMEA tab of the Analysis panel to record the functional failure analysis for each piece of equipment that will be analyzed with Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques. For this purpose, the analysis typically includes a list of the functions the item is intended to perform, the ways in which the item may fail to perform its intended function, the consequences of failure and the specific failure modes that may need to be addressed with an effective maintenance strategy. You can also use this tab for traditional FMEA or FMECA, if desired. For this purpose, the analysis typically includes a list of the functions the item is intended to perform, the potential failure modes, the effects of failure and the specific causes that may need to be addressed with corrective actions or prevention/detection controls in order to reduce the risk in the design. |
