Fractional Failure Analysis capability is added in V10.
- Failure frequency (count) can now be entered as a fraction
Purpose
- It similar in concept to the repair effectiveness used in RGA.
- For example, if Corrective Action (CA) is thought to be 80% effective (with strong engineering verification data), then subsequent analysis of the same data set may be done to factor in the CA by adjusting the failure count. In this case the failure count would be set to 0.2 (20%).
User Consideration & Discussion
- No Impact.
- Optional use.
- All analyses/options remain as they were in prior versions with the exception that no error is generated when fractional numbers are used in the count (number in group) column. Instead the fractional values are now accepted and used in the calculations.
